DESCRIPTION
Launched in 1951 and in production for about a decade, Patek Philippe’s reference 2508 is a very unusual Calatrava within the Genevan watchmaker’s collection. Its larger 35mm diameter case manufactured by Taubert & Fils closely resembles the celebrated chronograph reference 1463, and the screw-down case back gives it a sportier feel on the wrist.
It was one of Patek Philippe's first moves into the water-resistant wristwatch market. Moreover, as a precursor to the Amagnetic references, it featured an innovative "double caseback" design: a metal dust cover to keep moisture and magnetism at bay.
