DESCRIPTION
The Royal Oak revolutionized the market and established the "stainless steel sports watches" category when launched in 1972. This model was an all-purpose timepiece that was ideal for a variety of situations, from casual settings to formal ones.
Audemars Piguet and the perpetual calendar have a long history together. In 1955, Audemars Piguet created the first perpetual calendar wristwatch as the demand for complicated wristwatches rose. The first Royal Oak with a perpetual calendar was introduced in 1983. It is estimated that during the fifteen years of production, less than 1000 pieces were created, with only 422 in yellow gold.
